We all come from somewhere to be who we are today. That sounds about right, but have you ever thought about what that really looks like beyond your grandparents timeframe or theirs? My family lore says I am mostly Irish, but my DNA speaks of a long road of wandering across continents to finally get to the British Isles. Nordic ancestry? Yes! Which, considering our lifestyle, especially of late, is not a stretch to believe, lol! Anyone else find that kind or surprise in your bloodline??
In that vein, the first page of my new children’s book begins. (I am the author and illustrator for the first time!) Atzi’s Flowers explores the longer view of what may have created the enduring Legend of the Poinsettia and the common threads of cultures being woven together. Its beginnings are in rural Mexico, but it’s influences come from far beyond that.
It is available on Amazon as a Kindle, Print and Kindle Unlimited book. The proceeds, until years end, will benefit The Pope Francis Center, which provides vital services to Detroit’s homeless. Perhaps the young at heart in your world would find this a warm Christmas addition? Hope so!
