Sometimes inspiration is loud and proud and just won't be ignored, but not always. Sometimes, maybe a lot of times, it is fed, one drip at a time until an idea floats to the surface of awareness. I don't think I am alone in that, sound familiar? That being said, we always bring who we are and what we have experienced to every situation, shaping it, having it shape us. What was my inspiration for The Wild Little Donkey?

Here is what I know;

I wanted a different, fresh perspective on what we think about as we move through the traditions of the Christmas season.

> Which led to a question: Just what might it have been like for Mary and Joseph to travel from Nazareth to Bethlehem 2000 years ago? Having travelled on 2 wheels, carrying everything we needed over weeks and months, not much is easy about that!

> At some point, Ben, a friend, sent a short video clip of Dapple the Donkey from their farm to table lifestyle outside Eugene, OR. Eeek-ahhhhh, eeek-ahhhh!

> Donkeys are just so darn interesting! Here are a few things I discovered that I didn't know:

~ A donkey is stronger than a horse of the same size

~ Donkeys can see all four of their feet at the same time.

~ Donkeys are very clever with a keen sense of curiosity

~ Donkeys are very sociable and form strong bonds -

The rest of the time "it's more like a big ball of wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey stuff."
